Sarah Sharif is the Founder of Futura Apex Advisory (formerly Experimental Civics), an advisory firm that partners with executives and business leaders to uncover human-centered insights, anticipate future trends, and launch high-impact products and services for markets emerging between 2030 and 2100. Sharif is also an innovation manager with NYU Langone Health on the FuturePractice team within the technology organization.

As a Manhattan-based innovator and futurist, she translates weak signals, fringe ideas, and emerging technologies into actionable strategies, pilots, and products that drive growth, reduce costs, and create durable competitive advantage. Sharif also teaches graduate courses at Sofia University in the Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in Computer Science programs, covering strategic thinking, program and project management, data visualization, ethnographic user research, and innovation, so rising leaders can ship ideas that survive.

Her work has been recognized with honors, including the Vogue Business Talent Winner, the OBO Top 100 Innovators, the UN SDN Bronze Award, and the Mozilla Mini Science Winner. Brands such as Mozilla, Red Bull, and major pharmaceutical trust her on high-stakes work. Speaking highlights include Oxford University, Dubai Future Forum, SXSW, and Innovate South.

The Future Is Taboo is Sharif’s debut business book, revealing how fringe ideas become billion-dollar blueprints. Drawing on historical case studies, signals of change, and a practical framework, it helps leaders spot, test, and scale taboo innovations.

Sharif holds a B.S. in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Davis, an M.A. in Communications from St. Edward's University, and has completed executive coursework from Harvard University, HEC Paris, and the Copenhagen Business School.

Her adventurous spirit is also noteworthy, having completed the Everest Base Camp trek in Sep 2018.
